Thank goodness for my iPhone! I seriously would go mad without it when I am awake in the middle of the night! When I am not playing games I am searching through different blogs and happened upon one that is pretty cool. This particular blog was featuring the colorburst cupcakes that her mom made for her when she was little. I always want to try new things in the kitchen especially when it comes to baking. I knew I had all the ingredients so when the babies were asleep I took the opportunity to make them. Now if you do make them make sure to leave lots of time! I had fun making them and was excited to see them when they were done baking. Don’t they look so fun? They were pretty yummy too!

Getting ready to spoon the batter The finished product...yummy! I wanted to show the inside. On the second batch I reversed the colors.

Sugar cookies! For a bridal shower this week Lanette and I made flower sugar cookies. She baked and I iced. It seemed like they were never ending but by the end I was getting pretty good at it. She found a good recipe for icing and the key to good solid icing for sugar cookies is Caro Syrup. For the shower, Lanette put them in little pots as center pieces, which were adorable. Everyone loved them and munched on them all night. Jim was especially grateful that there were a couple left over. They were delish!
