Turkeys

Thanksgiving was fun this year with all the Hopkins and a few friends. We started the day with the traditional ward devotional and breakfast followed by the turkey bowl. No we didn’t play, instead we took Holly and JD to the park to play on the slides for a little bit. They absolutely love the park and enjoyed going down the big slides too. That is until they had a few tumbles then we decided we were done.

We headed back home where we enjoyed pre-dinner snacks and Cate and I made candy turkeys for everyone. I had planned on making these and Cate saw the idea too so it worked out to do them together. They were a big hit at each place setting and they tasted yummy too!

Holly and JD were actually able to enjoy more Thanksgiving dinner than mashed potatoes this year. Their plates were filled with food and they still had room for some pumpkin pie later that night. As our food digested we decided to look at the Black Friday ads and on a whim thought it would be fun to get up early and go. So at 3:30 am, Lanette, Steve, Cate, Johnny and I went out to brave the cold and the crowds. We were all still pretty tired so everything seemed pretty funny and entertaining. It was quite the shopping trip and fun to get some good deals. It will definitely be a yearly tradition!
