Funny Holly

I interrupt the regular scheduled love posts to bring you something funny. I like animals. And I’m getting used to having little parrots in my house. Oh wait, those are my children. Holly and JD are repeating everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! And usually when they repeat something once it is stuck in the vocabulary, what will be forever. So a few things…

For Christmas Holly and JD got new bikes and the bike doesn’t have a reverse function. Unless you count the fact you have to use your legs to do so. So when they are stuck at the wall or need to reverse I say “back up.” Which brings me to the funny part. Holly’s hair is getting longer (woohoo) and JD enjoys playing and pulling it. One day JD was pulling her hair and without hesitation Holly brings her hand up to move his and says, with attitude, “Heeeeey, Back Up!” I laughed out loud and every time I think about the story I laugh again.

This morning Holly was playing with my iPhone. I don’t know what she was doing, deleting another app I suppose. Oh I know, she was trying to turn the volume up so she could hear her flash cards and she wasn’t able to do it. All I hear coming from the other side of the room is, “darn it, darn it.” Again, laughing out loud.

Holly and JD like to take their socks and shoes off in the car. Like every time. It drives me nuts! Because now when they take off the shoes they want me to put them back on, right away. Lucky enough Holly is learning to do it herself. So on the way to singing time Holly is getting mad and I look in the mirror and she has her shoe off trying to get it back on again. We weren’t even around the corner from our house at the point. The conversation goes like this…

Me: “Holly, why do you have to take your shoes off, Gosh.”

Kids are so funny! I’m gonna have to watch my language around mine. My 4 yr old nephew said something so funny the other day. Their dog peed on the floor, so he picked it up and said, “Mom will you please take this damn puppy outside! I don’t know what to do with him anymore!”

I love your kiddos so much! They’re so cute and funny. You need to continue to write these things down because you’ll forget- you think you won’t, but you will. They change soooo fast- I forget things that Ellie told me 10 minutes ago and I swore it was the funniest thing and I’d never forget. I blame it on the mom brain. Anyway- let’s get together again soon! I hope you have a great day tomorrow. I wish that I could come celebrate with you in the evening :( I’ll be thinking of you!!!!!!

Oh my word!! I loved reading this post. What great times! :) Glad you are recording these little stories. Thanks for sharing!! Your kids are growing up too fast. Miss ya!
